These days if you were alien from Mars listening to the lyrics on the radio, you would think you'd buy CDs at a candy store or a Brooklyn Bodega!  JAD knows there's nothing like a live show, listening to live musicianship, and watching trained dancers jam to music even they love.  That is why Jazz Ain't Dead came to be... music productions for Young Urban Adults who are real music connoisseurs, by Young Urban Adult real music connoisseurs. 

We ourselves are direct products of the MTV hip hop generation from its infancy with a vast appreciation for live instrumentation, vocals, and concert dance; however, as we as artists mature, perform all over the world, and continue to educate ourselves in the fine and performing arts, we find ourselves unable to completely satisfy our sophisticated tastes from what we all know is currently force fed in today's pop culture.  Jazz, on the other hand, is timeless and the audience born in the jazz generation have never “grown out of” or found themselves too old for its structure and mature artistic delivery; classic jazz in its purity has always grown alongside its generations of the connoisseurs it conceived.  Unfortunately, this, among other things, curbed jazz music’s evolution and created a large generation gap.  In order to close that gap and bring jazz into the 21^st Century, we now look into what makes classics timeless, pop songs pop, and new songs extraordinary, and that passion for this understanding is what compels our group Jazz Ain’t Dead to help jazz evolve and create new arrangements that younger audiences will enjoy. 

To meet the urban savvy tastes of today's young mobile adults, we perform original songs of Jazz fusion derivative of neo-soul and house sounds, top 40 pop and R&B re-imagined with jazz sensibilities, and new arrangements of classic jazz standards performed to the rhythms of house, acid jazz, funk, and soul.
